Model health check · $500 per model

Revit model health check: $500 per model

We review your Autodesk® Revit® model by hand against your owner's data center rules and your BIM standard, finds what slows it down, and gives you a fix list in priority order.

Estimated 3 business days after we get access. Read-only: we don't change your model. Paid when ordered.

What we check

We start with the problems a dashboard can't see.

A dashboard can tell you a model is heavy. It can't tell you that two racks share an ID, or that a rack has no B feed. Those are the problems that cause trouble at turnover, so we check them first.

Checked first

Data center rules

  • Every rack and piece of equipment has a unique asset ID that follows your scheme, for example DH1-A-03 (hall 1, row A, position 3)
  • A and B feed fields are filled on every rack and point to equipment that exists in the model, such as the RPPs RPP-1A-01 and RPP-1B-01
  • Rack data is filled: U height, design kW, cooling type
  • Rack and equipment schedules match what's placed, hall by hall
  • Campus copies carry their building prefix, such as B2-DH1-A-01
  • Equipment sits in the hall or room its parameters name
Checked first

Your owner's standard and your BIM standard

  • Required shared parameters present and filled, category by category
  • Family, type, view and sheet names follow your rules
  • Title blocks and sheet parameters
  • View templates applied where your standard expects them
  • Worksets and links set up the way your BEP says
  • Classification and COBie fields, where your contract asks for them
Also checked

Model performance

  • Warnings by type and count
  • File size and what drives it
  • Imported and exploded CAD
  • In-place families
  • Unused families, views and groups
  • Links and worksets

Not a data center project?

We check any building type against your standard. Without data center equipment in the model, we simply skip the data center rules. The price is the same.

A data check, not an engineering review

We check that the data in the model is complete and consistent. We don't check whether the design is right. Our tools apply rules and values that your engineer of record provides. Their outputs are drafting and data aids, not engineering calculations, code-compliance reviews or sealed documents. Your licensed professionals review the results and remain responsible for the design.

What you get

A fix list your team can act on the same day.

  • A PDF report with a one-page summary up front, written for the person who has to decide what to fix
  • An Excel issue list with element IDs, so your team can select each element in Revit and fix it
  • A fix list in three groups: fix now, fix soon, watch
  • A 30-minute walkthrough call to go through the findings and answer questions

Optional, quoted separately: safe automated fixes, or a pyRevit checker button so your team can re-run the checks itself.

How we sort the fix list

Fix now
Breaks the owner's standard or blocks a deliverable. Example: duplicate rack IDs, racks with no B feed recorded.
Fix soon
Slows the team down or will cause problems later. Example: off-standard names, imported CAD in views.
Watch
Fine for now, but worth tracking. Example: warning count and file size, checked again next time.

Each item says what we found, how many elements it affects and what we suggest doing about it.

What the report looks like

A one-page summary, then the detail behind it.

This is the layout of the report summary and the Excel issue list. Your report uses your model, your standard and your ID scheme.

Illustrative layout with sample values, not a real client report. The model name, counts and IDs below are made up to show the format.

Already have Model Analytics Essentials? Use it.

It's included with Autodesk Forma Design Collaboration and automatically tracks Revit cloud models: sync times, file growth, version alignment, CAD imports, in-place families and unapproved content (Autodesk, Apr 2026).

Our check covers what a dashboard doesn't: models that aren't in the cloud, checks against your BIM standard and your owner's data center rules (asset IDs, A/B feed fields, schedules vs placed equipment), a person's read on root causes, and a fix list in priority order with a walkthrough. Using both makes sense.

How it works

From order to walkthrough in four steps.

  1. Order

Tell us which model and which standard. We confirm the model list and the price in writing, and you pay when you order.

    $500 per model
  2. NDA and access

Before any file changes hands, we sign an NDA: yours, after a quick review, or our mutual one. Then you invite us as a guest to your project, or send the model the way you choose.

    before any file
  3. Review

A person runs the checks, reads the results, looks for root causes and writes the fix list.

est. 3 business days after access
  4. Walkthrough

A 30-minute call to go through the report. You keep the PDF and the Excel issue list.

    30 min

What you provide

  • Access to the model: a guest invite to your project in Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud), or the file through a transfer method you choose
  • Your standard: BIM execution plan, the owner's BIM or data standard, and the asset ID scheme
  • For power checks, the one-line equipment list if you have it
  • A contact for quick questions and the walkthrough call
  • If we work inside your cloud models: agreement on who supplies the Revit license and the Autodesk Forma Design Collaboration access we use

Checking a whole campus?

The price is $500 per Revit model file. Linked models count as separate models if you want them checked too. Tell us how many models you have, and we'll confirm the list and the total in writing before you order.

No written standard?

We agree the rules with you before we start: your naming, the parameters you need filled and your ID scheme. They become a short written checklist you can keep using.

After the check

What you can do next, if you want to.

The report is yours to act on with your own team. If you'd like help, each option below is scoped and priced in writing first.

Safe automated fixes

Batch fixes for issues like naming and IDs, with a preview first and changes you can undo.

FAQ

Questions buyers usually ask about the health check

Do you change our model?

No. A health check is read-only. Fixes are a separate, optional step, quoted in writing first.

Why pay $500 when Autodesk has a free tool?

If you have Model Analytics Essentials, use it. It's included with Autodesk Forma Design Collaboration and automatically tracks Revit cloud models: sync times, file growth, version alignment, CAD imports, in-place families and unapproved content. Our check covers what a dashboard doesn't: models that aren't in the cloud, checks against your BIM standard and your owner's data center rules (asset IDs, A/B feed fields, schedules vs placed equipment), a person's read on root causes, and a fix list in priority order with a walkthrough.

Which Revit versions can you check?

Revit 2024 through 2027, and 2023 on request.

Which kinds of models?

Cloud models in Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud), workshared central models and local files. Any building type: without data center equipment, we skip the data center rules.

Can we repeat it every month?

Yes. You can order a check at any time for $500 per model, or include monthly checks in a retainer. On a retainer, the included health checks are separate from the hours bank.

Is this an engineering review?

No. We check that the model's data is complete and consistent against the rules you give us. Our tools apply rules and values that your engineer of record provides. Their outputs are drafting and data aids, not engineering calculations, code-compliance reviews or sealed documents. Your licensed professionals review the results and remain responsible for the design.

How do you handle our files?

Before any file changes hands, we sign an NDA: yours, after a quick review, or our mutual one. We never name your company or project publicly without written permission. We don't put your models, drawings or project data into AI tools. We may use AI coding assistants on our own code, and a person reviews and tests every line before delivery. AI is used on your data only with your written approval, in tools you approve. We delete your files from our systems within 30 days of close-out and confirm in writing. We keep only what the contract requires (the signed scope and invoices) and anything you ask us to keep for warranty work. Security details.

Where is your team?

SS Technologies is a remote company. Before any file changes hands, we confirm in writing our registered entity and where your data would be accessed from, so you can check it against your contract (for example, US-persons-only access, background checks or CUI). If your project restricts who can see files, tell us on the scoping call.

How do we pay?

Health checks are paid when ordered. We invoice in US dollars and accept ACH, wire, and card for smaller items. Prices exclude any applicable taxes.
